Whispers of His Power – MARCH 12
Isa. 46.4 (LXX margin): I will put up with you.
1 John 4.11: Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.
Do you sometimes say in your heart, ‘So-and-so is very hard to put up with’? If God puts up with us we ought also to put up with one another. If God is not hard on us, we ought not to be hard on one another. Think of the patience of God with us who so often try His patience. That thought helps us to be patient with others.
Another help is to think of the good qualities of those who try us. There is always good to find. Look for it. Think of it. Dwell on it rather than on the opposite. This is what our dear Lord did. ‘They have kept Thy word’ He said to His Father, overlooking so much.
Do we speak good of others, as He spoke good of the disciples who so often disappointed Him? If God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.
