Listen to Your Lord and Master

Tune: As the Deer (Nystrom)  9797 [plus Refrain 8887]
(As the Deer Pants for the Water)

Listen to your Lord and Master,
if you would follow Him.
Hear these words and learn to live them,
to be sure upon the way.

Refrain:

As you journey proclaim my love.
Walk each day strengthened from above.
Leave behind all your fears and worries
as you turn to follow me.

Take my Peace as your only garment;
greet those you meet with joy.
Don’t waste time if some stare and mutter,
keep your eyes fixed on the way.

Refrain:

As you journey proclaim my love.
Walk each day strengthened from above.
Leave behind all your fears and worries
as you turn to follow me.

Leave behind all your gold and silver
I am always at your side.
Tell the world of God’s caring grace
and rejoice that love is shared.

Refrain:

As you journey proclaim my love.
Walk each day strengthened from above.
Leave behind all your fears and worries
as you turn to follow me. (repeats)
