Whispers of His Power – FEBRUARY 18
Rev. 13.7: It was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them.
The words “it was given’ are dark with mystery. But there is a light in the darkness: one day that which was given will be taken away.
In the lives of God’s children there are sometimes periods when the adversary is ‘given power to overcome’. This power need never touch the spiritual. There the word is the glorious, defiant, Romans 8.37: In all these things we are more than conquerors through Him that loved us. But we may be hard pressed, and so I have been praying that our dearest Lord may have the joy of saying about each of us, all of us, ‘I can count on them for anything. I can count on them for peace under any disappointment, under any strain of faith. They will never set limits, saying “Thus far and no further.” I can trust them up to the hilt.’
‘Lord, this I wish to be, this I desire, and what Thou seest wanting in me, do Thou, I beseech Thee, vouchsafe to supply’
oooOOOooo
