Whispers of His Power – APRIL 1
Rom. 15.13 (Way): May the God who vouchsafes to you that same hope fill you with all joy and peace through the exercise of your faith, so that this hope of yours may be an overflowing fountain, by the power of is Holy Spirit.
To understand the force of any Scripture, a good plan is to put it into opposite words. For example:
‘Now may the devil of discouragement fill you with all misery and disturbance in doubting, so that you may abound in distress, through the mighty working of the devil of discouragement.’
Contrast that with the glorious truth of what Paul really wrote in Romans 15.13: Now the God of Hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.
Doesn’t that make this hope of ours an overflowing fountain?
