Hunny! 40 Days in the 100 Aker Wood – Day 5
…as the famous book and slogan goes, What Would Jesus Do if Pooh were to come and visit him?

…we, with our friends in the 100 Aker Wood, are all bears of small brain and it takes time for the truth to sink into our sawdust filled heads.
Like Christopher Robin and Pooh, we should learn to be slow to complain – “You didn’t exactly miss,” – and quick to apologise – “I’m so sorry,”. Having done this and ensured harmony in the Body of Christ, we can take aim again and have another go at the real problem instead of beating up each other.
Fasting is not about giving up on stuff but instead is about giving up on the direction we face.
As we get ready for the beginning of Lent it is helpful to remember that we do not need to travel this journey from the old ‘me’ to the real ‘me’ alone.
We have power to become Children of God and are challenged to choose between being Childish – a brat of Beelzebub – or childlike – a Kidult of the Kingdom.
Describing the gift of Christ at Christmas cannot be done by th use of one name alone.
We find in the manger a gift so large that it does indeed ‘hold the whole world in it’s hands’
Our wounded Lord calls us to tend the wounds of others and we cannot, we dare not, betray them for the sake of Him who was betrayed by His own followers.
The Bible must be at the heart of our faith however we must remember that its purpose is to point us towards God and not be an end in itself.
If we reduce our faith to a matter of which coins belong to which part of our life we run the risk of separating our life into sacred and secular. We are called to be a holy people every moment of our lives not only on Sundays.
