Sometimes life is so uncertain all that we can do is throw out a prayer in the hope that God is listening and will catch our words. The Good News of Advent and Christmas is that God is waiting to hear us.
The King of the Fisherfolk does not wear rich robes but instead travels in disguise and we can only find this Holy Grail when we learn to reach out to help the thirsty and the hungry, the naked and the homeless, the sick and the imprisoned.
The challenge faced by the One Talent Parable is that he forgets it is the Master’s property he is burying not his own. In the Christian life we must remember that we have nothing to offer except the generosity of our Master and if we bury that how will other’s know about God’s love.

When we attend special events or work in hazardous places we take special care over what we wear. To live the faith fully we need to also pay attentions to the foundation garments of our lives which will influence everything else that we do or say

Some of us are able to turn our wounds into scars and use our hurt to bring healing.
How do we turn personal pain into a passion that puts others first?
Authority is an example not a command, earnt not taken, and gained only by a decision to serve.
It is all to easy for Christians to retreat into the comfort of ‘We’ve always done it that way’ and to neglect the gifts that pother bring to our common life. We need to learn to live our motto ‘Open to God, Open to All’.
Preaching the Gospel is good and performing works of charity is wonderful but if we do this without forgiveness towards others the are powerless words and empty deeds
