MANNERS are the ornament of action, and there is a way of speaking a kind word, or of doing a kind thing, which greatly enhances its value.

LIFE is not so short but that there is always time enough for courtesy.
COURTESY is really doing unto others as you would be done unto, and the heart of it lies in a careful consideration for the feelings of other people.
THE highest we can attain to is not knowledge, but sympathy with intelligence.
IF we are not responsible for the thoughts that pass our doors, we are at least responsible for those we admit and entertain.
