Whispers of His Power – FEBRUARY 3

Whispers of His Power – FEBRUARY 3

Ps. 119.105: Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.

I have a little transparent picture.  When I look at it without the light behind I see nothing.  Turn the light on, and there is much to enjoy.  John 15.5 covers everything:  Without Me ye can do nothing.  Nothing, not even a little, but simply nothing.  But the light is there, ready to turn that nothing to something beautiful and radiant.

We have not to go all the way to the generating station to get light.  The light, like the word of our God, is not hidden from us, neither is it far off.  Read Deuteronomy 30 verses 12-14.  It is not in heaven, that thou shouldest say, Who shall go up for us to heaven, and bring it unto us?… Neither is it beyond the sea, that thou shouldest say, Who shall go over the sea for us, and bring it unto us?… But the word (the light) is very nigh unto thee.

Thank God it is ‘very nigh’.  Without Him who is the Light of the world and of our hearts we can do nothing, be nothing.  But What nation is there… who hath God so nigh unto them, as the Lord our God is in all things that we call upon Him for? (Deut. 4.7)
