Whispers of His Power – JUNE 1
Mark 12.26-27: God spake unto him [Moses], saying, I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. He is not the God of the dead, but the God of the living.
Heb. 12.1, 2 (Way): Therefore let us, like them – since we have encompassing us that vast cloud of witnesses for the truth – put aside every encumbrance, put off the garment of sin that can so readily trammel our efforts, and with strong endurance let us race along the course that stretches before us, turning our eyes away from all else toward Jesus.
Our Lord Jesus has taught us to call the dead, the living. When a match is played or races are run, a crowd gathers round to watch. Round about us now, like a dense but shining cloud, a great company has gathered to watch us playing the game of life and running the race. What would it be if suddenly we could see that which is truly all about us, the living ones of the unseen world? We cannot, but we are not meant to forget them. They do not forget us. There will be unseen ‘witnesses’ all around us today, praising God for what He is doing for us as with strong endurance we race along the course set for today.
oooOOOooo
