Whispers of His Power – JUNE 16

Jer. 31.35-37:  Thus saith the Lord, which giveth the sun for a light by day, and the ordinances of the moon and of the stars for a light by night, which divideth the sea when the waves thereof roar; the Lord of hosts is His name:  If those ordinances depart from before Me, saith the Lord, then the seed of Israel also shall cease from being a nation before Me for ever.  Thus saith the Lord;  If heaven above can be measured, and the foundations of the earth searched out beneath, I will also cast off all the seed of Israel for all that they have done, saith the Lord.

Here is a glorious word for those who are tempted to feel that God cannot go on loving one who is so unworthy to be loved.

Does the sun shine?  Do the moon and stars give light by night?  Those ordinances have not yet departed.  Then we have not yet ceased to be dear to Him.

Can we measure the heaven above or search out the foundations of the earth beneath?  Then we are not cast off in spite of all that we have done and all that we are.

Jeremiah 31.3, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love, means that.  John 13.1, Having loved His own which were in the world, He loved them unto the end, means that.  Blessed be the eternal love of God.
