Whispers of His Power – JUNE 20
Gen. 49.13: Zebulun shall dwell at the haven of the sea; and he shall be for an haven of ships.
Zebulun – an haven. From Judah (the fourth son) to Zebulun (the tenth) the Spirit, guiding Jacob’s words, led him on. There are interesting historical fulfilments of all these prophecies, but today we will consider something very simple and yet very searching.
Zebulun offered a haven of refuge to the Lion of the tribe of Judah when, as a little child, He was brought home from Egypt. And Zebulun gave Him all His disciples except Judas.
How few havens have been prepared for Him who is still the rejected of men; how few welcomes wait for Him anywhere. Can the loving Spirit say of our home – ‘an haven’? Can our dear Lord say of our hearts, ‘I will rest in My love there today’?
Judas grudged the ointment of spikenard, very costly, which Mary poured on the feet that were so soon to be wounded for her and for us. But Judas was not of Zebulun.
Can our Lord Jesus count on us to be His men of Zebulun who love with the love that sets no limitations, keeps nothing back?
oooOOOooo
