Whispers of His Power – OCTOBER 4

Whispers of His Power – OCTOBER 4

2 Cor. 6.4-7 (Way):  In all respects I try to prove the validity of my claim to be a steward of God’s bounty – In many-sided endurance – amid afflictions, sore straits and privations, amid scourgings, prison-cells and riots, amid toils, night-vigils, and fastings:  in purity, in spiritual illumination, in long-suffering, in kindness, in the Holy Spirits presence, in love unfeigned, in uttering the Message of Truth, in using the might of God.

Dr Way’s translation of the words ‘by the power of God’ is ‘in using the might of God’.  If only we use the might of God, as the salt was used by Elisha (2 Kings 2.21), the water will be sweetened.  It must be so.

Today the temptation will come to be impatient, or unpeaceful.  The might of God is ready for our use.  A look to Him brings it.  We have His sure word (Isa. 26.3), Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on Thee: because he trusteth in Thee.  To stand on that word is to use the might of God, for there is power in the word of God to effect what it says shall be.

Salt stings a wound, and if there is anything in us that is wrong, the word that He will bring to mind will sting before it heals.  But if we are willing for that, the healing is sure.  So let us use the might of God, and then all the influences that flow out from us will help others.

oooOOOooo
