OF ALL spirits, I believe the spirit of judging is the worst…
When shall we learn to keep the knowledge always present with us that often kindness is our best uprightness, and our truest justice is mercy?
It’s far too simple a thing to pray the Grace at the end of worship and not contemplate what it means to live a life full of Christlike grace, unconditional Godly love and the wide and welcoming fellowship of the Holy Spirit.
As a general rule, no man can fall into conversation with another without being able to learn something valuable from him. But in order to get at this benefit there must be something of an accommodating spirit on both sides;
…far more difficult still, to leave unsaid the wrong thing at the tempting moment.
WHEN with dear friends sweet talk I hold,
And all the flowers of life unfold;
Let not my heart within me burn,
Except in all I Thee discern.

But the best of all is silence from unnecessary and wandering thoughts, because that is essential to internal recollection,
WE should continually examine ourselves whether we are arguing for the sake of truth or triumph.
It is good to be plain spoken, but within the limits of charity.
