Being and Doing – 24 November – Prayer
The more time we spend in [God’s] presence, seeking His face and communing with Him in prayer, the more surely will godly graces and tempers spring up within us and bear fruit in our lives.

THOU Who hast given me eyes to see
And love this sight so fair,
Give me a heart to find out Thee,
And read Thee everywhere.
LORD what a change within us one short hour
Spent in Thy presence will prevail to make,
What heavy burdens from our bosoms take,
What parched grounds refresh as with a shower!
The fragrance of our actions is greater before God when they are done in a state of spiritual dryness.
WHERE you cannot pray as you would, pray as you can.
Prayer, continually lived in, makes the Presence of a holy and loving God the air which life breathes.
all honest work is worship,
And to labour is to pray.
Love for our fellow-creatures is a constant prayer.
THY intention should be to unite thy will to the Will of God, and not to draw God’s Will to thine.
IMPORTUNITY is the essence of successful prayer…
