Sometimes we think Lent is about getting rid of all the ‘noise’ around us. However if we seek too much quiet we run the risk of ignoring the voice of the Holy Spirit.
It is all to easy to be caught up in the workings of our Church and forget that we are not called to stay still and worship a Creed but follow a Saviour along the Way
Lent is kept best by lovers so in preparing for a 40 day date with God we must choose to put aside other loves and distractions and gaze only on our Beloved

As Lent draws to a close we run the risk of going back to ‘business as normal’ and not carry all we have learnt with us. What can we do to continue to grow closer to our Beloved.
The Yiddish Proverb ‘When you make plans, God laughs’ is as true for those living the Religious Life as for those on the roller coaster of so called ‘secular life’. What plans do we make for when our plans don’t work out?
To walk in faith always means going where we have not been before nor to places where we are comofrtable. To be faithful means a leap into the unknown knowing only that our Beloved holds us.
It is a long journey from ‘I want to be alone’ to ‘use me’ but it is the only journey worth travelling and the only example worth following.
Every so often God works in and through us despite us and uses ditress and upset to bring restoration and renewal.
