The Wonder of the Cross – Day 30 – Suddenly
…if we can’t worship with the rest of the Body of Christ we will worship where we are because the Spirit of God is not imprisoned in the sanctuary of a cathedral or the pulpit of a chapel.
…if we can’t worship with the rest of the Body of Christ we will worship where we are because the Spirit of God is not imprisoned in the sanctuary of a cathedral or the pulpit of a chapel.
You are King of all creation they’ll say.
One day
…the faithful should not flinch when named as tree-huggers and Net-Zeroniks. This is our calling. We care for the creation because we know it reflects the Creator. And if we care enough for trees and bugs and flowers and streams we may even learn to care for each other….
…I for one am letting
All my walls fall down
In this place of safety
This child has finally found
We do not know what the future holds so it is important to learn who holds the future and hold on to them (cf James 4v13-17).
The power of Hannah, Mary, Vicky, and even me should not be only about foot-stamping and fist-clenching. This power is a power that is manifested through the renunciation of power. Strength, as we learnt yesterday, being made perfect through weakness.
….mostly, when I sit tending the scratches on my ego after yet another encounter in the briar patch of my life, I realise that I am the only one who can do anything about this.
Let Your blood cover me
Wash me white and set me free
Let Your blood make me clean
Today….
It is in living everyday lives of righteousness and performing acts of unquestioning service that the glory of God is revealed.
It does not matter where we, or those close to us, have met the generous love of our Beloved, it only matters that with us He may find a place where he can ‘Lay down His sweet head…..’
