The Wonder of the Cross – Easter Day – Hallelujah What A Saviour
When someone loves you, the way they say your name is different. You just know that your name is safe in their mouth…
When someone loves you, the way they say your name is different. You just know that your name is safe in their mouth…
With [the women] we are called to a persistent and practical faith-filled life which looks each night to be with our Beloved at dawn-break. And, as we fill our emptiness with devotion we too will hear Him call our name from the Garden Tomb
However I mark this Salvation Day, in worship, in passion plays, in processions, I know that by day’s end I am loved. May you know that same deep deep love which called our Beloved to the Cross that He might die for love of our love.
In these last few days of Lent step closer. Try to stand at the cross and remember what it was the first time you stood there as a lost sinner.
Then, as the Laodicean Christians were encouraged, listen for the knocking of the Light of the World on your heart’s door and let love in.
Cherished by the One we cherish we are transformed and enabled to love the unlovely with the same love which turned our inner beast into beauty.
Easter has always been BOGOF – Buy One Get One Free.
…not deserving this the greatest of all gifts, have the love of the One Who Loves us Best lavished upon us not once but twice! We are saved by the death of our Beloved and we are saved even more by His Resurrection.
What we need is a Saviour.
Someone who knows about the costly price of making peace.
Someone who can carry this cross for us.
Someone who we can gaze upon, be captivated by, and try to imitate.
Now is the time to open our eyes more widely.
Now is the time to give our shackles a shake; they are ready to fall off.
Now is the time to drink deeply from the well of Living Water.
Meeting Jesus [Mary Magdalene] knew she could no longer be the false self she was living, trying to gain acceptance by being a plaything of others instead of being the servant of the Lord.
When we finally learn that indeed, ‘your steadfast love is better than life’, the only thing we can do is praise and dance and sing.
