Being and Doing – 19 January – Redeeming the Time
REDEEMING the time. – Colossians 4 v 5.
RESOLVED: Never to lose one moment of time, but to improve it in the most profitable way I possibly can.
RESOLVED: To live with all my might while I do live.
Jon. EDWARDS.
THE Future does not come from before to meet us, but comes streaming up from behind over our heads.
RAHEL LEVIN.
IF we know the love of God, we cannot look back upon even a wasted hour without sorrow, even here.
Bishop WILKINSON,
oooOOOooo
These quotes are from ‘Being and Doing’ A selection of helpful thoughts from various authors arranged for daily reading.
Collected by Constance M Whishaw and first published in 1908 for members of the Being and Doing Guild whose object is to do all they can for the relief of suffering and misery.
Most of the writers are 19th Century Christians from Britain and Europe who were committed to living their faith through deeds as well as words – Being AND Doing.
For many years these words have kept me company and encouraged me on the journey of faith. I hope they will encourage others also.
Thank you, have a good weekend guys! Bizzare isn’t it, how Father isn’t visible but yet, he gives us a slight reminder in how time heals and moves us. He brings us, his followers to connect with one another like a phone line in order to repair and give us our own medicine.
The tongue, like an udder of a ship, guided and lead the right way it will carry us through the dark times and indeed bring us home, closer to him.
“No one comes to the Father except through him!”
Thank you.
