Whispers of His Power – APRIL 23
1 Chron. 16.41: And with them Heman and Jeduthun, and the rest that were chosen, who were expressed by name, to give thanks to the Lord, because His mercy endureth for ever.
In 1 Chronicles 16 various names are mentioned, and then suddenly in verse 41 come the words, And the rest that were chosen, who were expressed by name. It is as if God said: I have another Roll-book and each one of you, My servants, has been chosen and expressed by name in that Book of Mine.’
We all like secrets – happy secrets. Here is one of God’s happy secrets. In His Roll-book, not published on earth but eternal in the heavens, we, even we, are expressed by name.
What is your work today? Think of it, you were chosen for just that work, and you are expressed by name in the Roll-book of your God. Even if you are ill and unable to work, you can do what God’s unnamed servants of old did: they were chosen to give thanks to the Lord, and so are you.
So don’t let us slacken, but fight the good fight and run the good race even unto the end.
oooOOOooo
