Whispers of His Power – MAY 3

Whispers of His Power – MAY 3

1 John 4.4:  Greater is He that is in you, than he that is in the world.

Sometimes we are tempted to feel, ‘I want to serve God wholly and to live for others, but Satan’s power is very great.  How can I withstand him to the end?  Even our Lord Jesus called him the prince of this world (John 12.31).  He is too strong for me.’

There are two Greek words which are translated ‘prince’ in our New Testament.  One is archon, a ruler, the common word used for the rulers of the people.  This is the word our Lord uses in speaking of Satan.  The other word is Archegos, which means a founder, author, file-leader, true and ultimate Prince.  This is used for our Lord Jesus Christ.

Satan is only the prince; he is mighty but not Almighty, archon not Archegos

Greater is He that is in you than he who is in the world.  He is the Prince.  Trust your Prince.
