Whispers of His Power – JUNE 25
Exod. 3.2-3,14: And the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush: and he looked, and, behold, the bush burned with fire, and the bush was not consumed. And Moses said, I will now turn aside, and see this great sight, why the bush is not burnt… And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM.
Rotherham’s rendering of the great words of our AV are, I will Become whatsoever I please’. And his note is: What He will be is left unexplained. He will be Helper, Strengthener, Deliverer?
God’s choice of the scrubby thorn bush, the ‘nothing’ of His creation, reminds us of Paul’s words in 1 Corinthians 1.26-31 about our calling. God has chosen foolish things, weak things, things which are despised and even things which are not, that no flesh should glory in His presence.
Lord, we are Thy thorn-bushes, Thy nothings. O Fire of Love Eternal, Become whatsoever Thou pleasest, and keep us Thy humble thorn-bushes growing in the dust at Thy feet.
oooOOOooo
