Whispers of His Power – AUGUST 10

Whispers of His Power – AUGUST 10

Heb. 4.1:  Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into His rest, any of you should seem to come short of it.

As we journey on there will be rivers, and we shall find neither bridges nor boats nor aeroplanes.  But the rivers can be leaped by a spring of the will, the resolute will not to come short of the promise of entering into His rest.  There will be Giants’ Valleys, and mountains of immense and impossible obstacles.  But nothing can hold up one who follows a Conqueror.

The devil continually tries to keep us on the near side of our rivers, and to entangle us in valley and mountain, till we forget that we are here to overcome, not to be overcome.  All this is part of the intended discipline of life.

Two more Tamil proverbs are:  ‘If one will, what is impossible?’ and ‘If there be love even the impossible becomes possible’.  God give us the will to conquer, the will that refuses defeat.  Defeat need never be, for all the time ‘He goes before’.  So it will be till, as it were, He turns in the road and we see His face and are satisfied.  For I shall be satisfied by a vision of Thee (Ps. 17.15 Rotherham).  That is the blessed end of our journey.

oooOOOooo
