The Wonder of the Cross – Day 29 – One Day

I love these moments, these Trysting Places, with Our Beloved. With Vicky (and Whitney – see below) I must learn to go there not only when I am in a good place but also when all I want to do is hide in the bushes.
Like the Grinch we must learn that friendship and joy is never about possessions and gifts and stuff, but about each other. When we finally realise that all our hearts will ‘Grow three sizes’.
We can’t spend our whole lives reading ‘sustaining books’ whilst others work their fingers to the bone around us. In the Christian Life we cannot be Martha or Mary (Luke 10.38-42)[3] we must needs be both!

Some days, if we listen closely and are still enough, we will know the deep truth that God is always with us and alongside us
The journey to a ‘Trysting Place’ is not for Lent alone. In this final blog find a link to the movie of the book ‘In this House of Brede’ and also details on how to be in contact with a local Religious Commnity.
As Lent draws to a close we run the risk of going back to ‘business as normal’ and not carry all we have learnt with us. What can we do to continue to grow closer to our Beloved.
The Yiddish Proverb ‘When you make plans, God laughs’ is as true for those living the Religious Life as for those on the roller coaster of so called ‘secular life’. What plans do we make for when our plans don’t work out?
To walk in faith always means going where we have not been before nor to places where we are comofrtable. To be faithful means a leap into the unknown knowing only that our Beloved holds us.
