His name meant Shining.  Most of us have sometimes to do with camels, sometimes with asses, but oftenest, thank God, with the flocks of the Good Shepherd.

I am glad that we do not have to fight with asses, but we certainly have to look after them sometimes.

Sometimes it is in the smallest, most unseen things that Christ comes and says:  ‘See in it a chance to die.  Die to your own will, to your own thoughts and opinions, to your I in all its little private preferences.’

I expect he sometimes found leading better than driving, and so sometimes shall we.  God give His Obils patience to deal with their camels.

Let us praise before we see.  Let us thank our Lord for trusting us to trust Him.

When anyone has been unkind to us, what do we feel inclined to do?

He does not hold trial off lest we should be overwhelmed.  He lets it come and then gloriously strengthens us to meet it.

He is able. I know. I will trust.

Any-thing
Any-where
Any-how
Any-when.
Are we truly ready for this today?
