OH! that we all knew or remembered what words are! Surely they are the most terrible powers in this universe.
Nothing can need a lie:
A fault, which needs it most, grows two thereby.
Examine your words well and you will find that even when you have no motive to be false, it is a very hard thing to say the exact truth,
THINK truly, and thy thoughts
Shall the world’s famine feed;
REPENTANCE is heart’s sorrow, And a clear life ensuing
Christians can only be salt and light to the world if we allow ourselves to be poured out of the saltshaker. Salt that is not used is as worthless as tasteless salt!
