Whispers of His Power – APRIL 15
Ps. 17.15: As for me, I will behold Thy face in righteousness: I shall be satisfied, when I awake, with Thy likeness.
A little Indian girl thought that if she wakened suddenly one morning she might see the angels as Jacob saw them. Rotherham translates the last verse of Psalm 17, I shall be satisfied when awakened by a vision of Thee, or as the margin has it by Thine appearing.
It would be very joyful to be wakened by a vision of angels, by their appearing here in the room. But what will it be to be awakened by a vision of the Lord of the angels, our Lord whom we have loved so long and never seen? And then We shall be like Him; for we shall see Him as He is (1 John 3.2).
Perhaps we shall see the angels first, as I suppose the happy Lazarus did when he was ‘carried by angels’ all the way home. But that will only be the beginning of joy.
Revelation 22.3-4 tells us, His servants shall serve Him: and they shall see His face; and His name shall be in their foreheads. That will be heaven.
