Whispers of His Power – MAY 23
Rom. 8.26: We know not what we should pray for as we ought.
Rom. 8.28: We know that all things work together for good to them that love God.
How true it is, we do not know what we should pray for. ‘But we do know that all things work together for good.’ Darby emphasizes that ‘we do know’ and says it looks back to ‘we do not know’.
Another light on that familiar word, Romans 8.28, comes through Rotherham’s rendering: ‘God causeth all things to work together for good.’
What does it matter what we do not know, when we do know this?
‘And sure am I, that, on those who love God, all things are with one purpose working to bring blessings – yes, on those to whom, according to His providential plan, He has cried “Come ye to Me!” ‘ (Way).
oooOOOooo
