Whispers of His Power – JUNE 6

Rom. 15.30-2:  Now I beseech you, brethren… that ye strive together with me in your prayers to God for me;  that I may be delivered from them that do not believe in Judaea;  and that my service which I have for Jerusalem may be accepted of the saints; that I may come unto you with joy by the will of God, and may with you be refreshed.

Dan. 3.17, 18: Our God whom we serve is able to deliver us… But if not, be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up.

Paul asked his friends to strive together with him against the dark powers about three things.  Of the three, one prayer we may conclude was answered according to his expectations;  the other two were not.

There was no joy, no refreshment for Paul in Rome except the joy of being in the Will of God.

May our faith, too, be of the Daniel 3.18 order.  That is triumph;  that is faith.  Nothing else is worthy of the name.

Paul’s glorious prison letters prove that he lived in the spirit of these words.  So should we.

oooOOOooo
