Whispers of His Power – JULY 13

Whispers of His Power – JULY 13

Heb. 13.1:  Let brotherly love continue.

Heb. 13.20-21:  Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, make you perfect in every good work to do His will, working in you that which is well pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ.

There will be many things in our prayers today, but let us give five minutes for God to tell us what He thinks about kindness.  Will five minutes be enough?  We may find we need longer.

Now the God of peace make you perfect… to do His will.  Are we perfect in kindness?  Peter tells us, as though we need to be reminded of it, to add kindness to godliness (2 Pet. 1.7).  Paul writes, in Weymouth’s translation of Colossians 3.12, Clothe yourselves therefore, as God’s own people, holy and dearly loved, with tender-heartedness, kindness.  Here again holiness and kindness are set together.

Are we living according to this, the revealed desire of our God?  Do we want to please Him more perfectly by kindness’?  Then let us sweep away any thought of unkindness that may be lingering in any corner of our heart.

Let us ask Him, whose dearest name is Love, to fill our hearts so full of love today that kindness will flow out all the time, and never anything else.

oooOOOooo
