Whispers of His Power – AUGUST 5

Ps. 40.5:  Many, O Lord my God, are Thy wonderful works which Thou hast done, and Thy thoughts which are to us-ward:  they cannot be reckoned up in order unto Thee:  if I would declare and speak of them, they are more than can be numbered.

My room is on the pathway, and often as someone passes by he glances in and smiles.  That smile has lightened the minutes, for me, for a long time afterwards.  

Through this very little thing I have learned afresh how much our Heavenly Father cares for a loving thought – a thought that is like a smile.

My thoughts of those who passed my window were many.  But they knew very little, if anything, of them.  Our Father’s thoughts to us-ward are many.  We only know a few of them, but they are flowing us-ward all the time.

I wonder whether He watches for a thought from us, just as I have watched for a smile through the window?  Don’t let us forget, as we go here and there, that there is One who cares very much for these little quick upward glances that – tell Him we are loving Him.  How good it is, to know that He cares so much for the thought that is like a smile.
