Whispers of His Power – AUGUST 6

Whispers of His Power – AUGUST 6

Isa. 43.20:  The beast of the field shall honour Me, the dragons and the owls: because I give waters in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert, to give drink to My people, My chosen.

Isa. 48.21:  And they thirsted not when He led them through the deserts:  He caused the waters to flow out of the rock for them:  He clave the rock also, and the waters gushed out.

Did you ever wake up in the morning feeling like an owl?  If any prefer the other reading, ostrich (Isa. 43.20 margin) it comes to the same in the end.  The ostrich is not, in Scripture, an illustration of intelligence. (Job 39.13-17 settles that.)  But it is these very birds that ‘honour Me because I give waters in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert’.

There are days when every ostrich and owl among us will have the chance to do that, for there are bound to be dry, desert days.  Don’t let us miss the chance.  There will be no dryness in the Country whither we are hastening.  Here, only here, is the opportunity to drink of the waters in the wilderness and to lead others to the rivers.

Let us witness to the truth of such words as Isa. 51.3:  For the Lord shall comfort Zion:  He will comfort all her waste places;  and He will make her wilderness like Eden, and her desert like the garden of the Lord;  joy and gladness shall be found therein, thanksgiving and the voice of melody.

oooOOOooo
