Whispers of His Power – AUGUST 12
Ps. 71.4 (BCP): Thou, O Lord God, art the thing that I long for.
Ps. 132.14 (BCP): …He hath longed for her.
It is not strange that we should long for our Lord. How could we help it? It is surely the wonder of all wonders that He should long for us.
For the Lord hath chosen Zion to be an habitation for Himself: He hath longed for her. Zion, poor fallen sinful Zion; man, poor fallen sinful man; me (how fallen, how sinful, only He who knows all knows), He hath longed for me.
Lord Jesus, help me to meet longing with longing, love with love. Thou, O Lord, art the Thing that I long for. I will love Thee, O Lord, my strength (Ps. 18.1).
oooOOOooo
