Whispers of His Power – SEPTEMBER 13

Mark 9.6-8:  They were sore afraid.  And there was a cloud that overshadowed them… And suddenly, when they had looked round about, they saw no man anymore, save Jesus only with themselves.

Great books have been written to buttress faith in the truth of the Bible, but the ultimate proof is that this Book of books finds us where we are, meets our deepest needs, and speaks to us with a voice utterly different from any other voice.

Here, for example, something is told us that is spirit and life to the heart of a Christian who is in the shadow of a cloud.  That heart knows how alone it feels then.  Yes, but not alone, for it is then that it experiences as never before ‘Jesus only with myself’.

Are you in trouble about something?  Take this word as you would a flower in your hand.  You cannot see the fragrance of a flower, and you cannot see the presence of your Lord, but you can let its sweetness refresh you. Look up to Him and say ‘Thank You’ to your Lord Jesus who is always with you.
