Whispers of His Power – AUGUST 17
1 John 5.14-15: And this is the confidence that we have in Him, that, if we ask any thing according to His will, He heareth us: and if we know that He hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of Him.
There is great comfort in one of the glorious prayers of the New Testament. No one knows who wrote it, but we do know that it is an inspired prayer, and so there can be no doubt whatever about its being answered. It is one of the prayers that fit the conditions of 1 John 5.14-15.
It is Hebrews 13.20-21. Weymouth translates it: Now may God who gives peace, and brought Jesus, our Lord, up again from among the dead – even Him who, by virtue of the blood of the eternal Covenant, is the great Shepherd of the sheep
– fully equip you with every grace that you may need for the doing of His will, producing in us that which will truly please Him through Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory to the ages of the ages! Amen.
The Lord strengthen us to take hold upon these words for whatever is the need of the day. He is faithful. He has not given us up because we have so often disappointed Him.
Let us trust and not be afraid.
oooOOOooo
