Whispers of His Power – AUGUST 18
Isa. 64.4-5: For since the beginning of the world men have not heard, nor perceived by the ear, neither hath the eye seen, O God, beside Thee, what He hath prepared for him that waiteth for Him. Thou meetest him that rejoiceth and worketh righteousness, those that remember Thee in Thy ways.
Isa. 64.7: There is none that calleth upon Thy name, that stirreth up himself to take hold of Thee.
There is such a thing as a shining contentment with the will of God. Any lack there is a loss to prayer. Thou meetest him that rejoiceth comes just before the word that so often impels us to take time for prayer, There is none that stirreth up himself to take hold of Thee. Before the assurance that He will indeed meet him who rejoices, comes the glorious word that is like a burst of sunshine: ‘For since the beginning of the world men have not heard or perceived or seen what He hath prepared for him that waiteth for Him.’
