Whispers of His Power – SEPTEMBER 25
Rom. 7.18: To will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not.
Phil. 2.13: It is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of His good pleasure.
Phil. 4.13: I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.
Romans 7 is a description of our life as it was. It describes our life as it is whenever, even if only for one minute, we live the old self life. But by His Spirit’s enabling we are meant instead to live the Enoch life and walk with God.
The contrast between Romans 7.18 and Philippians 2.13 shows this glorious truth. I cannot, but God can. And so I can, and Philippians 4.13 becomes my experience.
There is just nothing we can do of ourselves, but When I said, My foot slippeth; Thy mercy, O Lord, held me up (Ps.94.18).
So – I cannot … God can … I can.
