If this great word, Beloved, let us love, is hidden in our heart it will prevent unkindness of any sort from slipping in.

What a glorious life is ours!  Our Lord does not merely watch us work today, but He actually works with us.

An evangelist came for a week’s work.  ‘Please will you lend me a Bible?’ he asked.
‘Haven’t you brought your own?’
‘No, I thought I could borrow one?

The Sword of the Spirit which is the word of God never grows blunt.  But we can immensely sharpen our powers of using it.

‘It’s a very odd thing,
As odd as can be,
That whatever she eats
Turns into Miss T:’

You cannot see the fragrance of a flower, and you cannot see the presence of your Lord, but you can let its sweetness refresh you.

It is not a little matter to leave all – all of self, its desires, pride and ways.  But if we do we shall find all that our Lord has to give us.

And when we listen we hear Him say, ‘It is I, be not afraid.’

But if only we give all we have, just as it is in its littleness, into His hands to be dealt with as He wills, it will be multiplied.

We need to have faith that the soul we are trying to persuade to sit down, so that its Lord may feed it, really will sit down, and really will be fed.
